Conor Bradley has received plenty of praise during his international stint with the Northern Ireland team.
The 21-year-old has played six times for Liverpool this season, playing just 169 minutes – which is understandable considering he is competing with Trent Alexander-Arnold for playing time.
Nevertheless, the Academy graduate has already more than proven that he is capable of replacing the Reds’ vice-captain if required.
The defender recorded an impressive seven goal involvements in 23 appearances during Jurgen Klopp’s final season as manager.
BBC experts impressed by Conor Bradley
Michael O’Connor praised the Northern Ireland captain ahead of the Green and White Army’s 0-0 draw with Belarus.
“I don’t think Conor Bradley will be a loud captain, but I think he sets the standard with the way he plays and the boys will follow him.” The former Crewe star was quoted as saying BBC Sport.
John O’Neill was equally impressed with Conor Bradley and highlighted the quality of the footballer in his final international appearance.
“I think Trai Hume and Conor Bradley were the best going forward in terms of distribution.” The former Northern Ireland defender continued BBC Radio Ulster (above BBC Sport).
Conor Bradley has a bright future at Liverpool
We can be sure that Liverpool have considerable quality at right-back due to the availability of young full-back and teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Bradley’s recent performance for Northern Ireland would certainly prove this. The young defender secured a rating of 7.4/10 Sofa score in a goalless game for Michael O’Neill’s side after collecting two key passes, creating a big chance and winning 10/19 of his contested duels.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether we will stick with our vice-captain, whose current term expires in the summer of 2025. Of course, we are working behind the scenes on an extension of our No.66’s contract.
Assuming we manage to convince the 26-year-old to put pen to paper on new terms, the future of the right-back position will be largely resolved.
