Kyle Busch was an integral part of the NASCAR He’s been in the Cup Series for nearly two decades and still has some momentum left in the tank, but the media world might tempt him at some point.
Many of Busch’s colleagues have gone into broadcasting over the years Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer And Jeff Gordon. His former teammate, Denny HamlinHe even pulls double duty as a podcaster and driver, and who could forget that? Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his contributions to the NASCAR media world since his retirement.
Recently, Busch has made a few appearances on NASCAR in the playoffsand many are wondering whether he would like to do this full-time in the future. In the latest edition of 12 questions with Jeff Gluck from The athletehe thought about the possibility himself.
“Maybe. I haven’t really thought about it much. I’ll just put my foot in it and try it out and see what the networks think, what the producers think and everyone behind the scenes to see if I can get a voice and a voice later “I see Harvick doing it, I’ve seen Darrell Waltrip do it, and I’ve seen a lot of other ex-drivers take on that role , how much you can talk to the riders about how hard it is and the things you love I’ve made a great living here, so you’d like to be able to give something back while some of the other guys just disappear into the sunset and you never really hear from them again.
“But I (9-year-old son) also enjoy racing Brexton and I want to be a part of it too. I enjoy the dirt track aspect of it, being able to go out and race on the tracks he races on. So as long as it fits into my schedule, I don’t want to push myself too hard and put myself in a situation where I’m over-committing myself.”
Unfortunately, it makes sense that Busch would rather be a part of his son’s racing career than immediately jump into the media world. Regardless, there is plenty of time for the two-time champion to figure out what he wants to do and whether the broadcast environment is right for him.
If he does decide to grace NASCAR fans with his presence long after his career is over, his insight and candor will be more than appreciated, as Kyle Busch will be considered one of the best to ever do so, if he calls it a career.
